The Lydden Thunder 650 returns to the Lydden Hill calendar for its second appearance, celebrating the very best of UK oval racing with action from the Kent Outlaw Oval Racing Club, National Outlaws, the European Late Model ASCAR Series, the ProGrand UK Series, MiniCups and more.
Kent Outlaw Oval Racing (KOOR) - Lydden Hill’s home oval club bring multiple formulas and their trademark fast, door-to-door action on the UK’s quickest oval.
KOOR Outlaw Hot Rods - Front-engined, rear-wheel-drive “hot rod–type” cars (spaceframes permitted) on race tyres: the outright pace merchants of the KOOR stable. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
KOOR 1400 Hot Rods - Lightweight hatchbacks capped at 1400cc (with specific allowances), semi-spaceframes allowed and broad tuning freedom for lively, affordable racing. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
KOOR Lydden Rods - Cost-controlled FWD small cars up to 1800cc and 130 hp on road-legal tyres—close grids and plenty of variety. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
KOOR Open Rods – Petrol, 2WD machines with flexible build rules (within KOOR regs) for a proper mixed-make showdown. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
KOOR Mini Rods - Budget formula based on the R50 MINI 1.6 kept largely standard, emphasising driving skill and tight racing. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
European Late Model Series (ASCAR) - Thundering V8 stock cars (NASCAR-style) that will run the oval in the opposite direction to the other classes for a fresh challenge and serious speed. Kent Outlaw Oval Racing
ProGrand UK Series - Baby Grand stock cars (≈ 2/3-scale NASCAR), typically Yamaha XJR1300/FJ1200-powered, non-contact and built with big-car safety features—full races, not demos. Pro Grand UK
MiniCups UK - Junior ½-scale NASCAR machines for 8–16-year-olds, Honda GX390-powered with controlled tyres—racing, not demos. Pro Grand UK
American car owners get 50% off admission, and one passenger in the same car is also entitled to a discounted ticket. (Show proof of ownership on arrival/at booking as instructed by the promoter.)
